When a checkup isn't the whole answer

If you're missing a tooth, waking up tired after a full night in bed, or clenching your jaw in your sleep, you can often get it treated close to home. Our dentists in Milford and Henniker handle many of these cases in-house.

What advanced dentistry includes at our offices

Some problems need more than a cleaning or a filling: a missing tooth an implant can replace, sleep apnea an oral appliance can ease, jaw tension Botox can relax, or several issues to fix in one plan.

Dental implants, for one missing tooth or several

An implant replaces the root of a missing tooth and can hold a single crown, a bridge, or a denture that snaps into place.

Sleep apnea appliances, for snoring and tired mornings

For many people with mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea, a custom oral appliance worn at night is an alternative to CPAP. A physician diagnoses sleep apnea with a sleep study, and our dentists design and fit the appliance.

Botox at our Henniker office, for fine lines and jaw tension

Our Henniker office offers Botox to soften lines around the eyes, forehead, and mouth, and to relax jaw muscles that clench and grind.

Full-mouth reconstruction, for several problems at once

If worn, broken, or missing teeth are affecting how you bite and chew, we can plan treatment for the whole mouth instead of one tooth at a time. The plan might combine crowns, implants, and dentures, ordered around what will work best and feel most comfortable for you.

Care for patients with special needs

For patients with autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, multiple sclerosis, or other conditions that make dental visits hard, we can use a private room with the door closed, nitrous oxide, and items from our comfort menu.

New patients welcome in Milford and Henniker.

How do general dentists train for advanced care?

Our Milford advanced dentistry starts with ongoing training. Each of our dentists completes more than 50 hours of specialized training every year, and new team members train for one to six months before treating patients on their own. Our team also learns through the Spear Study Club and the NHOMS mini-residency.

Financing through CareCredit, Sunbit, and Proceed Finance.

Comfort during longer appointments

Implant placement and full-mouth work can mean more time in the chair. Nitrous oxide can help you relax, numbing reversal helps the numb feeling fade sooner afterward, and iTero digital scans replace putty impressions.

A heated massage chair, a blanket, and a TV in your room come with every visit too.

“From the moment I called, I was treated so kindly. Heather set me up with a new patient visit right away and on a Saturday! Danika at the front desk was so friendly and gave me a wonderful tour! My dental hygienist, Meiber, was very gentle with my teeth, and the dentist, Dr. Shedd, gave me positive feedback! Very grateful I made the switch; thank you all!”

“Wow! I am impressed. When I first arrived, I was given a really nice gift and given a tour around the office. Short wait for my appointment. Knowledgeable staff. Amazingly comfortable seats with warming and massage options. A lot of comfort options for people with dental anxiety. They were super sweet to my 3-year-old, who tagged along with me as well.”

FAQ

Things you might be wondering

It starts with an exam, X-rays, and a conversation about what you've noticed and what you'd like to change. From there, your dentist will explain your options, including simpler ones, and what each involves and how long it takes. If more than one problem needs attention, we'll plan the order of treatment with you.
Yes. Implant placement isn't limited to specialists, and many general dentists train for it. Our dentists plan and place implants at both offices, and they keep up their training every year. If your X-rays show you need another step first, like a bone graft, we'll explain it and where it happens.
The cost of Milford advanced dentistry depends on the treatment and your plan, so we'll talk through costs with you first. We're in network with Delta Dental PPO and Delta Dental Premier, and sleep apnea appliances are often covered by medical insurance instead.
No. Both our Milford and Henniker offices are welcoming new patients. When you call to ask about Milford advanced dentistry, tell us what you'd like to discuss, such as an implant or a sleep apnea appliance, so we can plan your first visit around it. New patients also get a welcome gift and a tour before any clinical care starts.
Yes. Nitrous oxide is available at both offices and wears off quickly once the nasal mask is removed, so many patients can drive themselves home. Tell us when you book if you'd like it, and ask about numbing reversal if you'd rather not stay numb for hours after your appointment.
