Family Dental Care of New Hampshire

Straighter teeth, without metal in your mouth

There used to be one option for fixing crooked, crowded, or gapped teeth: braces. Today, most patients have a better choice. Invisalign uses a series of clear, custom-made aligners to gently shift your teeth into the position you want, no brackets, no wires, and no surprise food restrictions.

Invisalign at our Milford and Henniker offices means a quieter, more flexible orthodontic experience. You'll wear your aligners most of the time, but you'll take them out to eat and brush, and most people won't even notice you have them in.

Who Invisalign works for

Invisalign is a strong option for a wide range of orthodontic concerns:

  • Crooked, crowded, or rotated teeth
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Mild to moderate overbite or underbite
  • Crossbite
  • Adults who don't want metal braces
  • Teens looking for a less visible alternative
  • Patients who had braces years ago and have seen their teeth shift back

How Invisalign works at our Milford and Henniker offices

Treatment with Invisalign is more straightforward than most people expect. Here's the general path.

  • 01

    Consultation

At your first visit, we'll evaluate whether Invisalign is the right fit for what you want to change. We'll talk through your goals and what to expect.

  • 02

    Custom Treatment Plan

We use digital scans (not goopy molds) to map out exactly how your teeth will move, step by step. You'll get a clear picture of your final result before you ever wear your first aligner.

  • 03

    Wearing Your Aligners

You'll wear each set of aligners for about 22 hours a day, switching to the next set every one or two weeks per your treatment plan. They're removable for meals, brushing, and the occasional special event.

  • 04

    Check-Ins With Your Dentist

You'll come in periodically so we can monitor progress, hand off your next set of aligners, and adjust the plan if needed. These visits are typically shorter and less frequent than traditional braces appointments.

  • 05

    Retainers

Once treatment is done, you'll wear retainers to keep your teeth in their new position. The more consistently you wear them as directed, the more your results will hold.

A treatment timeline made for you

Treatment time depends on what's being corrected. Some patients finish faster than they expected, others take longer. Our Invisalign team in Milford and Henniker will give you a realistic timeline at your consultation, and we'll be honest about what's possible and what isn't.

“From the moment I called, I was treated so kindly. Heather set me up with a new patient visit right away and on a Saturday! Danika at the front desk was so friendly and gave me a wonderful tour! My dental hygienist, Meiber, was very gentle with my teeth, and the dentist, Dr. Shedd, gave me positive feedback! Very grateful I made the switch; thank you all!”

“Wow! I am impressed. When I first arrived, I was given a really nice gift and given a tour around the office. Short wait for my appointment. Knowledgeable staff. Amazingly comfortable seats with warming and massage options. A lot of comfort options for people with dental anxiety. They were super sweet to my 3-year-old, who tagged along with me as well.”

FAQ

Things you might be wondering

It depends on what's being corrected. Some patients finish faster, others take longer. We'll give you a realistic timeline at your consultation based on your specific case.
Yes. Because the aligners are removable, you take them out for meals and snacks. That means no food restrictions, unlike traditional braces.
Most patients describe Invisalign as feeling a bit tight when they put in a new set of aligners. The pressure is part of how the aligners shift your teeth. The discomfort usually fades within a day or two of switching trays.
Cost depends on what you need. We offer financing through CareCredit, and we'll walk you through your options and what's covered by insurance before treatment begins.
