A brighter smile, the right way

Coffee, tea, red wine, time. Plenty of things can leave your teeth less white than you'd like, and most over-the-counter options don't work as well as they promise. Professional teeth whitening is faster, safer, and more effective.

Whether you've got an event coming up or you're just ready for a change, our teeth whitening dentists in Milford and Henniker can help you get to a shade you're happy with, without the trial and error.

What we offer

Our teeth whitening dentists at our Milford and Henniker offices offer two main approaches, so you can choose what fits your schedule and your goals.

Take-Home Whitening

We start by taking digital scans of your teeth and creating custom-fitted whitening trays. You bring them home with professional-strength whitening gel and use them on your own schedule, typically for short sessions over the course of a couple of weeks. The trays are designed precisely for your teeth, which keeps the gel where it needs to be and off your gums.

In-Office Whitening

For faster results, in-office whitening uses a higher-strength gel applied in our office. You can see meaningful results in a single visit. This option works well for patients with an event coming up or who want the change quickly.

Why professional whitening is different

Store-bought whitening kits can work, but they're a one-size-fits-all approach. The strips slip, the gel often gets on your gums, and the strength of the gel has to be low enough for general use. Professional teeth whitening at our Milford and Henniker offices is tailored: the right gel strength for your sensitivity, the right delivery method for your situation, and a custom fit that keeps the active ingredient where it should be.

Safe for your teeth and gums

A common question we hear is whether whitening damages your teeth. The answer is no. When done properly by a teeth whitening dentist who can assess your situation and customize your treatment, whitening is safe. We'll also screen for any underlying issues, like sensitivity or gum recession, that could affect your results.

Why patients actually relax in our chair

Whitening might be the most pleasant appointment in dentistry, but the rest of your experience still gets the same attention. Your appointment at our Milford or Henniker office comes with a heated massage chair, blankets and eye masks, and TVs in every operatory. For the custom tray fitting, we use digital scans instead of messy molds, so even that step is easier than you might expect.

“From the moment I called, I was treated so kindly. Heather set me up with a new patient visit right away and on a Saturday! Danika at the front desk was so friendly and gave me a wonderful tour! My dental hygienist, Meiber, was very gentle with my teeth, and the dentist, Dr. Shedd, gave me positive feedback! Very grateful I made the switch; thank you all!”

“Wow! I am impressed. When I first arrived, I was given a really nice gift and given a tour around the office. Short wait for my appointment. Knowledgeable staff. Amazingly comfortable seats with warming and massage options. A lot of comfort options for people with dental anxiety. They were super sweet to my 3-year-old, who tagged along with me as well.”

FAQ

Things you might be wondering

Whitening results can last for years with good care, but it depends on your habits. Coffee, tea, red wine, and tobacco will dull results faster, while regular brushing and good oral hygiene help them last longer. Most patients touch up once a year or so to maintain their shade.
Some patients experience temporary sensitivity during or right after whitening. The good news is we can customize the gel strength and treatment schedule to your sensitivity level, which usually keeps any discomfort minimal. Once treatment is done, the sensitivity goes away.
No. Whitening only changes the shade of natural tooth enamel. If you have visible crowns, veneers, or fillings, those won't lighten. Your teeth whitening dentist will talk through this at your consultation so the result matches across your smile.
It depends on the starting shade of your natural teeth and what's causing the discoloration. We'll give you a realistic expectation before treatment starts. Most patients see a noticeable, several-shade improvement.
